2). Move to designated area .

Hurricane Watch

1). Hurricane conditions are possible within 36 hours.

2). Keep tuned to local conditions.

3). Check to ensure adequate plastic for covering computers, U/S, etc.

4). Secure outdoor objects.

5). Call emergency line, 843-987-7464, for updates from Administration.

Hurricane Warning

Hurricane conditions are expected within 24 hours.

If directed:

-Listen to emergency line message (843-987-7464).

-Move  and secure equipment off of the floors, cover with plastic.

-Close blinds, windows and doors.

-Lock centers.

Tornado Danger Signs

1). Dark often greenish sky

2). Large hail

3). Large, dark, low lying clouds

4). Loud roar, similar to freight train

5). Before tornado hits, winds may be down and air becomes still.

-Small interior windowless room on lowest floor

-Hallways on lowest level away from doors or windows

-Rooms with reinforced concrete

-Avoid corners

Executive Director

1). Monitor EOC updates.

2). Update emergency communication lines and EOC web page.

3). Close centers following mandatory evacuation.

4). Obtain return passes.

5). Determine which centers are capable of opening post hurricane.

6). Contact radio station 98.7, WTOC and WCSC with updates.

7). Initiate phone tree.

Pharmacy

1). Vaccines to Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Community Services

1). Secure parimeter and building.

2). Turn off water, gas and electricity.

Medical Information Services

1). Run back-up tapes.

2). Remove tapes from center.

Department Heads

1). Maintain and carry phone numbers of staff.

2). Assist with center preparations.

3). Ensure center preparations complete prior to evacuation.

HIS Director

Contact ALL centers to:

1). Check printed schedules

2).  Check Medical Record’s security

3).  Check signage on doors

Health Information Services

1). Review schedules to ensure patients with urgent needs are seen.

2). Contact patients.

3). Print schedules and phone numbers for one week.

4). Secure Medical Records.

5). Post signage-MANDATORY EVACUATION.
